From its noble origins in medieval Portugal to the restoration of independence from Spain, the
Braganzas rose to power during a defining moment in Portuguese history. Their reign would stretch
across continents, from the royal court of Lisbon to the imperial throne of Brazil.

Over nearly three centuries, the dynasty produced kings, queens, emperors, reformers, exiles, and
revolutionaries. Their story is one of ambition, survival, civil war, colonial wealth, political betrayal,
and national transformation.

A sweeping portrait of power and legacy, this film follows the rise, global reach, and eventual fall of a
royal house that lost its throne — but never disappeared from history.
